Terra and Harry {Broward County Animal Care}
Two affectionate pups are hoping their next stop is a forever home. Meet Terra and Harry, Broward County Animal Care’s Pets of the Week, both eager to leave the shelter behind and find families to love.
Terra
Terra, a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Mix (ID A233508), has been waiting since July 2024 after being found as a stray in Fort Lauderdale. Despite her sweet personality and playful spirit, she was never reclaimed and has been in the shelter ever since.
Known as a favorite among Broward Buddies volunteers, Terra is energetic, affectionate, and food-motivated. She enjoys meeting people and soaking up attention, but can be selective when it comes to other dogs. Terra would thrive in a home with older children, teenagers, or adults only. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go, with her adoption fees waived.
Harry:
Harry (ID A2412762), a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Mix, was found roaming near an animal hospital in Hollywood this past February. With no ID and no one to claim him, Harry joined the ranks of adoptable dogs at the shelter.
With his charming bowed legs and sunny disposition, Harry quickly became a favorite. He enjoys leisurely walks, sniffing around the grass, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “paw.” He also shines on field trips through the Broward Buddies program, always bringing smiles wherever he goes. Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, Harry’s adoption fees are also waived.
Adopt and Save a Life
Interested adopters can meet Terra and Harry at Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. All adopted pets go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and with a Broward County Pet Registration Tag — completely free of charge.
