Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old man in North Lauderdale on Monday afternoon.
The fatal incident took place at approximately 12:50 p.m. on March 27 in an apartment at 7471 S.W. 10th Court. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the scene in response to reports of the shooting and found Taris Jackson suffering from a single gunshot wound to the stomach.
North Lauderdale Fire Rescue also arrived on the scene and transported Jackson to Broward Health North, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators detained multiple family members of the victim who were present at the scene for questioning. One juvenile family member was arrested for obstruction.
Detective Nuno Roque, who is leading the investigation, is urging anyone with information about the fatal shooting to contact him at 954-321-4242.
