Moana and Keira {Humane Society Broward County}
Two special pets at the Humane Society of Broward County are hoping to find loving families.
Meet Moana
Moana (ID A700976), a 5-year-old, 50-pound bully breed mix, is described as a fun, affectionate dog with plenty of love to give. While she enjoys the company of people and children, she isn’t fond of cats. Moana does well with most dogs, though shelter staff recommend a meet-and-greet if a family has another pet at home.
Her previous owner adopted her before realizing they didn’t have the time to care for her. Now, the shelter is eager to match her with a forever family who will make room in their lives for this overlooked sweetheart. Thanks to the generosity of J.R. Dunn Jewelers, Moana’s adoption fee has already been sponsored.
Meet Keira
Keira (ID 704233) is a gentle rabbit with distinctive droopy ears and a calm nature. Though shy at first, she blossoms once she feels safe, showing off a curious personality as she explores her surroundings. Keira enjoys fresh greens, crunchy vegetables, and quiet companionship, making her an ideal pet for someone patient and kind.
How to Adopt
Those interested in meeting Moana, Keira, or other adoptable pets can fill out a pre-adoption application at www.humanebroward.com. The Humane Society of Broward County, located at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale, opens daily at 11 a.m.
For questions, call 954-989-3977. The shelter’s vaccine clinic is also open six days a week with no appointment necessary.
