Caribbean women whose leadership, creativity and community service have helped shape South Florida will be recognized during the fourth annual HERS — Honoring Exceptionally Regal Sisters celebration on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Hosted by the Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, the event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.
The annual gathering celebrates women of Caribbean heritage whose achievements in business, public service, the arts and community leadership have made a lasting impact throughout South Florida and the Caribbean diaspora.
Organizers expect hundreds of guests to attend the afternoon event, which will feature award presentations, cultural celebrations and opportunities for networking and community engagement.
Now in its fourth year, HERS has become one of the Island SPACE Caribbean Museum’s signature events. The program is presented with support from Tamarac Commissioner Morey Wright Jr., the City of Tamarac and the Broward County Cultural Division.
“HERS celebrates the extraordinary women whose leadership, talent and service strengthen Tamarac and communities throughout South Florida,” Wright said. “It is an honor to support an event that brings Caribbean women together to be recognized, celebrated and connected.”
The event is open to the public.
