Barricaded Suspect in Tamarac: Rock Island Road Closed

BSO deputies were dispatched just after 2 a.m. to 5250 Rock Island Road regarding a man barricaded inside a home. Neighbors say it started where there was arguing at a nearby house. The suspect made threats against a family member. According to BSO he is believed to be alone inside the residence.

There are weapons inside the home. SWAT responded and it’s an active scene.

Rock Island Road is shut down in the immediate area. Motorists are asked to find alternate routes. Helicopters are in the area.

Note: Neighbors in the Woodlands Country Club are reporting that they have heard an explosion and gunshots.
