Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac hosts a Chanukah Wonderland for children ages two and up and their parents.
Held on Sunday, December 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., the family-friendly event includes a carnival, Chanukah crafts and stories for the kids, and a Make Your Own Menorah workshop. Admission is $5, and the event offers multiple sponsorship opportunities.
“The annual Chanukah Wonderland is a chance for the children to experience all the traditional parts of the holiday, from making latkes and donuts to assembling a menorah,” said Rabbi Kopel Silberberg.
This year, for the first time, Chabad added a toy drive to the event in partnership with Healing Hearts, a local Jewish organization providing patient advocacy, family support, and kosher rooms and meals.
“The collected toys will be gifted to the children in local hospitals,” Rabbi Silberberg said. “Residents can bring toys for the drive even if they don’t have children participating in the event if they wish to support the cause.”
He noted that the general idea of Chanukah is about spreading light and love in the community, and the opportunity to bring joy to children both through the event and the toy drive is a wonderful way to celebrate.
Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac is located at 8100 N University Dr.
