Oscar German Munoz Gutierrez and Martha Cecilia Molano {BSO}
A coordinated operation by BSO Tamarac detectives and Coral Springs SWAT led to the arrest of two suspects tied to a string of residential burglaries disguised as a cleaning service.
On May 6, BSO detectives and the Coral Springs Police Department SWAT team executed a search warrant at a residence near the 2300 block of Northwest 84th Lane in Coral Springs. Upon entering the residence, officers took two occupants into custody, later identified as Oscar German Munoz Gutierrez, 61, and Martha Cecilia Molano, 57.
The warrant indicates the arrests stem from an investigation into a burglary reported on April 8, where nearly $10,000 worth of cash and jewelry were stolen from a Tamarac residence.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage showing Munoz and Molano entering the gated community in a rental car registered to Molano, despite the pair owning personal vehicles. Detectives note in the report that using a rental car in the alleged crimes suggests an effort to avoid detection.
Video surveillance captured Gutierrez and Molano lingering outside the victim’s residence before ascending a stairwell and returning minutes later with concealed items. Investigators say the pair operated under the guise of a cleaning service, granting them access to multiple homes within the community.
A property management employee also confirmed the suspects’ connection to a prior burglary in 2022, where valuables were similarly stolen. During the 2022 incident, witnesses described seeing a man with a noticeable limp and a woman carrying a cleaning bucket, later believed to have been used to conceal stolen property.
Molano and Munoz matched the descriptions, and further photographic identification linked them to both cases.
Pawn records also revealed that Munoz had completed over 40 transactions between 2017 and 2023, selling diamonds, gold jewelry, platinum rings, and other valuables totaling over $80,000, many of which matched the descriptions of the stolen items.
Munoz and Molano face multiple charges, including burglary of an unoccupied structure and grand theft. Both were transported to Broward County Main Jail following their arrests.
Gutierrez and Molano have since been released after posting a $20,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing, and BSO encourages any additional victims or individuals with information to come forward.
