Executives and managers for Fifth Third Bank in Tamarac {David Volz}
A new bank has come to Tamarac.
Fifth Third Bank celebrated its grand opening on April 23 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a fun social event. Members of the Tamarac Commission and community leaders participated.
A bank that encourages people to visit and receive personal services will be good for Tamarac, according to Mayor Michelle Gomez. “I know this bank will be successful,” she said.
The new Fifth Third Bank is located at 5815 North University Drive, a former Boston Market site. Commissioner Morey Wright believes the bank will benefit the community.
Fifth Third has big goals for South Florida. Francisco Llerena, Assistant Vice President of the financial center, welcomed the community and encouraged everyone to enjoy the food and fellowship. “Our goal is to have 45 new locations in South Florida, and this year, we plan to add five locations in the area,” he said.

Strong customer relations distinguish Fifth Third from more traditional banks, and Llerena wants customers to come to the bank and meet with staff. “Our goal is to get to know our customers and establish partnerships with them,” he said.
The hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
