A Lauderhill man is facing assault with a deadly weapon charges after allegedly pointing a firearm at a woman and threatening to shoot her outside a Broward nightclub.
According to a Lauderhill Police Department arrest report, the incident occurred around 2:55 a.m. on April 20 in the parking lot of the Bliss & Bar Nightclub located at 1885 Northwest 38th Avenue.
The report shows that the victim reported the suspect, later identified as Christopher Lamont Slater, 42, of Lauderhill, approached her vehicle and threatened her as she had just left the nightclub with a female friend. She claimed the incident stemmed from her attempting to leave her parking space when she found her car blocked in by Slater.
When the woman asked Slater to move, he allegedly exited his vehicle, approached her, and shouted that he would not move and that she would have to wait. When the woman threatened to call her boyfriend, Slater reportedly began screaming, telling her, “Call your boyfriend, I don’t care. I’ll shoot both of you.”
According to the report, Slater then pulled a black firearm from a holster at his waist, pointed it at the woman, who was still seated in her vehicle, and yelled, “Say something now.”
Fearing for her life, the woman remained still, while a nearby male witness intervened, urging Slater to calm down and let her leave. Slater allegedly pointed the gun at her a second time, continuing to make threats.
The woman dialed 911, and Slater was seen walking back to the Cadillac and handing the firearm in its holster to the other man inside, who then stashed it under the driver’s seat. That man left the scene before police arrived.
Lauderhill patrol officers responded to the scene, where the woman identified Slater as the man who threatened her with the gun. Officers detained Slater and located a black firearm under the Cadillac’s front seat.
Slater was arrested and transported to the Broward Main Jail. He was later released after posting a $7,500 bond.
