Commissioner Krystal Patterson is inviting women in the community to take charge of their health with Breaking Barriers Women’s Health: Early Detection Saves Lives, a free breast cancer screening initiative scheduled for Monday, October 27.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., and will provide residents with access to mammogram screenings through the Mammovan.
Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 954-597-3472 or visiting bit.ly/D3MammoVan. Annual screening mammograms are covered for patients ages 40 and over. Participants should bring a valid ID, insurance card, and copies of any previous mammograms if done at another facility.
Results will be available within three business days. For those without insurance, no-cost mammograms will be provided.
Space is limited, and residents are encouraged to schedule early to secure an appointment.
