Tamarac COVID-19 and Vaccine Update for March 19

Every other day we’re providing the latest update on positive COVID-19 testing and vaccine data.

On March 19, the Florida Department of Health reports there were 113,931 COVID-19 tests. Out of those, 7,726 came back positive, and 5,101 were first-time positives.

Tamarac isn’t out of the woods yet. There were 5,493 total positive COVID-19 cases which is an increase of 26 positive cases since March 19. Statewide, there are 1,999,297 positive cases to date.

Since the pandemic began, 83,189 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 32,651 have died. Of those, 2,580 were residents of Broward County.

Vaccinations

As of March 19, 7,124,403 or 22.19 percent of Floridians have received at least one vaccination dose. Out of these, 12.40-percent are now fully vaccinated.

Broward County has a population of 1.9 million residents as of 2019, and as of March 19, 621,615 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 218,221 people now fully vaccinated.
