The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac responded to various incidents through October 27, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Incidents
Found Property:
• A caller found ammunition while cleaning his deceased brother’s Tamarac residence on Oct. 21 and turned it in to police.
• On Oct. 24 and Oct. 27, two residents separately surrendered wallets and ammunition for safekeeping and destruction.
Retail Thefts:
• Shoplifting incidents were reported at Publix (8245 N. Pine Island Rd.) and Festival Supermarket (3198 W. Commercial Blvd.) on Oct. 21. The total estimated loss was about $295.
Residential Burglaries:
• A scooter was stolen from a Tamarac home on Oct. 21, with a reported loss of $500.
• An attempted occupied burglary occurred at another Tamarac residence the same evening.
Fraud:
• A resident reported $11,442 stolen after a check was fraudulently cashed on Oct. 23.
• Another Tamarac victim reported over $30,000 in cryptocurrency transfers to an unknown account on Oct. 27.
• A separate worthless check case occurred at Amscot (5041 N. State Rd. 7) on Oct. 24.
• A 63-year-old resident also reported $2,088 in fraudulent bank transactions.
Criminal Mischief:
• On Oct. 22, a woman damaged a motorist’s car with a can of mace following an altercation at a red light.
• A rear window of a 2017 Mercedes-Benz was shattered between Oct. 22–23.
Narcotics and Weapons:
• Deputies recovered amphetamine pills during a traffic stop on Prospect Road on Oct. 22.
• An Uber driver discovered narcotics inside a delivery package destined for Jupiter, Florida, on Oct. 25.
• A narcotics dealer was arrested Oct. 21 after deputies recovered a large quantity of drugs.
• A firearm was seized for safekeeping during a DUI investigation on Oct. 22.
• A skimmer device was recovered from a Bank of America ATM on N. University Dr. on Oct. 24.
Animal and Elderly Neglect:
• A loose pit bull was collected by Animal Control on Oct. 24.
• Deputies investigated allegations of elderly exploitation that were determined unfounded.
Domestic Disturbances:
Multiple verbal disputes were documented throughout the week involving couples, family members, and juveniles. No physical altercations were reported in these cases.
Other Calls for Service:
• Several Baker Acts were initiated for individuals expressing suicidal thoughts or displaying erratic behavior.
• Deputies responded to a call at Walgreens on W. Commercial Blvd. after a false report of a shooting.
• A refrigerator was stolen from outside a business at 2801 NW 55th Ct. on Oct. 25.
Arrests
October 21:
• Paul Louis Stevens, 61, was arrested for possession with intent to sell heroin.
• Stephen Paul Jones, 45, was charged with loitering and prowling.
October 22:
• Eric Owen Johnson, 37, arrested for possession of controlled substances without a prescription.
• Roshane Chesterfield Bailey, 40, arrested for using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
• Jean Jouberson Dory, 27, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
• Joshua Alexander Mercado, 20, arrested for domestic battery.
• Tre Mone Deanti Drisdom, 22, arrested on a public order crimes warrant.
• Matthew John Blakney, 38, arrested for possession of drug equipment.
• Hezekiah James Potts, 19, arrested for violating an injunction.
October 23:
• Kenville Llewellyn Roberts, 74, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (domestic).
• Ana Alicia Barreal, 41, arrested on an outstanding warrant.
• Claude Taffari Williams, 29, and Isaiah Lyonel Homer Williams, 27, both arrested for domestic battery following a physical altercation between brothers.
October 24:
• Michael James Erskine, 22, arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.
October 26:
• Anthony Rengasami, 45, charged with grand theft between $750 and $5,000.
• Juesline Fleurinor, 30, arrested for DUI, first offense.
Estimated Losses:
Over $45,000 in combined thefts and fraud were reported during the week.
