Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through June 12.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on Hiatus Road was reported on: 06/06/2023. Two suspects unlawfully removed four Purple Brand Mattresses from the warehouse. The total estimated loss was: $10,000.
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W McNab Road was reported on: 06/09/2023. The total estimated loss was: $102.
Threat Assessment
A Threat Assessment Report on NW 94 Avenue was reported on: 06/06/2023. A student was found in possession of an Orbeez toy water gun.
A Threat Assessment Report on NW 94 Avenue was reported on: 06/08/2023. A 17-year-old student was found in possession of a pocket knife.
Theft – All Other
A victim of Theft – All Other on NW 74 Avenue was reported on: 06/06/2023. The total estimated loss was: $192. The victim’s package from Amazon was stolen.
A victim of Theft – All Other on W Commercial Blvd was reported on: 06/11/2023. The total estimated loss was: $409. The victim stated that money and electronics were taken while the hotel staff was servicing her room.
Auto Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on NW 96 Terrace was reported on: 06/07/2023. The victim’s rented Silver Honda Accord was stolen.
A victim of Auto Theft on W Commercial Blvd, a 1996 Toyota Camry, was reported on: 06/10/2023.
Fraud – All Other
A victim of Fraud – All Other on Granville Drive was reported on: 06/09/2023. The total estimated loss was: $600,000. The victim joined an online dating site and was scammed into giving the suspect $600,000, which he had her pay in Bitcoin.
Battery
A victim of Battery on W Commercial Blvd was reported on: 06/10/2023. The victim advised that the suspect punched her in the face.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on W Commercial Blvd was reported on: 06/10/2023. The total estimated loss was: $50. The complainant reported a juvenile male wearing a red hoodie broke into her car and stole her makeup bag. It was later determined that someone had also attempted to enter her apartment through the front window.
A victim of Auto Theft on W Commercial Blvd was reported on: 06/11/2023. An employee was terminated and failed to return the vehicle at the designated time.
A victim of Burglary Residence on NW 76 Street was reported on: 06/12/2023. The total estimated loss was: $430. The victim reported that an unknown person entered his garage and stole two drill bits and a weight bench in the box. The suspect(s) were able to open the garage door due to it being unlocked.
Arrests
Marshall, Michael, Reymone, 20, was arrested on a charge of Possession Of Weapon – Or Ammo By Fla Delinquent Adult Felony on Rock Island Road on 06/06/2023.
Scarlett, Ramon, Alexi, 29, was arrested on a Larceny – Petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense charge on NW 53rd Court on 06/06/2023.
Bullard, Damarcus, Javon, 21, was arrested on a Larceny – Grand Theft Of Firearm charge on N University Drive on 06/07/2023.
Sanders, Taurus, Devares, 23, was arrested on a Neglect Child With Great Bodily Harm charge on NW 57 Court on 06/08/2023.
Sanders, Taurus, Devares, 23, was arrested on a Battery-Commit Domestic Battery By Strangulation charge on NW 57 Court on 06/08/2023.
Vollen, Joanne, Marie, 33, was arrested on a Trespassing-Property Not Structure Or Convey charge on W Commercial Blvd on 06/08/2023.
Jackson, Katrina, Shanice, 25, was arrested on a charge of Battery-Touch Or Strike on W Commercial Blvd on 06/10/2023.
Morantes, Ocampo, William, Antonio, 56, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 2nd Offense on Rock Island Road / W Commercial Blvd on 06/11/2023.
