The City of Tamarac is set to host its annual One Tamarac Multicultural Festival on Saturday, Feb. 8, beginning at 4 p.m.
The free event held at the Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St., promises an evening of vibrant cultural celebration, featuring spoken word artist Rebecca “Butterfly” Vaughan as hostess and live performances by Cachi Y Saoco Nuevo, a Latin percussion group, and Dancing on the Ceiling, a Lionel Richie tribute band.
Attendees can explore a variety of cultural experiences with over 15 food trucks offering Caribbean cuisine, frozen treats, and local business stalls with educational literature. A kids’ zone will feature bounce houses, face painting, life-size lawn games, and photo opportunities with performers.
From 5 to 6:30 p.m., the community stage will showcase international performances by Thai Nattasin, Venezuela Danza Y Tambor, Voces De America, Drake Irish Dance School, and the Junkanoo Band.
The evening will conclude with a laser light show. Free shuttle service will be available from Tamarac City Hall, Tamarac Community Center, and Caporella Park Overflow Lot for convenient event access.
