More than 2,400 runners, walkers, and trotters are expected to gather at Tamarac City Hall on Thanksgiving morning for the 45th Annual Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K, which begins at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27. The race has reached capacity for the third consecutive year and is officially sold out.
City officials advise residents to expect traffic impacts throughout the morning. The course begins at NW 77th Street and Pine Island Road before heading south, then east on NW 75th Street, north on 80th Avenue, and west on NW 81st Street. Participants will loop back to Pine Island Road, heading southbound toward the finish line. Roads along the route will be closed from 6:30 to 10 a.m.
Parking is limited at City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Ave., and will remain open until full. A free shuttle service will run from the Tamarac Walmart Neighborhood Market at 6931 NW 88th Ave. to City Hall starting at 6 a.m.
