DeAndre Pierre {BSO}
A wanted man was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon following an alleged drug-fueled domestic attack on a woman that involved a knife and a rifle.
According to Lauderhill Police Department incident reports, on January 25, officers reported to a residence near the 3700 block of Northwest 5th Street in response to the report of a violent and potentially deadly domestic violence incident involving multiple weapons and an alleged assailant under the influence.
Records show the victim identified her attacker as DeAndre Pierre, 20, of Lauderhill. The victim reported arriving at the location around 5:00 a.m. on the day of the incident with a friend to visit her boyfriend. While inside a shed behind the residence, Pierre allegedly became upset about her leaving.
The victim told officers the situation took a violent turn when Pierre – who she alleges was consuming a combination of hydrogen peroxide, Tylenol pills, and alcohol during her time in his presence – grabbed her by the neck and slammed her onto a bed before taking out a pocketknife and stabbing the mattress and bed multiple times.
Incident reports show the situation turned even more dangerous when Pierre allegedly retrieved a rifle-like firearm with an extended magazine from beneath his bed and allegedly pointed it at the victim, threatening to kill her.
Fearing for her life, the victim told law enforcement she attempted to call 911, but Pierre allegedly tried to prevent her by grabbing her phone and ending the call. Despite his efforts, dispatchers were able to reconnect with the victim, allowing her to provide her location.
The victim and her friend fled the scene, running westbound on Northwest 5th Street, but Pierre chased after them, jumped on her back, and took her phone before fleeing southbound on Northwest 38th Avenue. The victim told officers that she saw a firearm in his waistband as he fled.
Police officers responding to the call spoke to the victim and a second witness who corroborated her statement.
An out-of-custody arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of Pierre, and on January 27 he was taken into custody and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He was later released after posting a $15,000 bond.
