A woman died from injuries she suffered when her car struck a tree in Tamarac Saturday morning, authorities said.
Nikole Machado, 38, was driving west on West Commercial Boulevard in her 2021 Honda Civic when the car veered toward the raised center concrete median, struck the median, then hit a tree at West Prospect Road at 4:04 a.m., according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Machado was extricated from the Civic by first responders and rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating the fatal crash.
Additional information about the incident was not immediately made public Saturday.
