A Tamarac woman was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill her mother during a domestic dispute.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, on June 29, deputies reported to a residence located near the 9700 block of Northwest 67th Court after a 911 call alleged a domestic assault in progress.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered a victim who told them her daughter, Ashley Regina Hughes, 29, became irate when her personal belongings were moved from the living room couch.
The situation allegedly escalated when Hughes allegedly followed her mother into her bedroom, clenched her fist, and delivered a chilling threat, “I’m going to kill you and bury you in the backyard by the lemon tree,” Hughes reportedly said.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told authorities she was in fear for her life and believed the threat to be credible, noting this threatening and violent behavior from her daughter was not uncommon.
Hughes was taken into custody at the scene and later admitted to making the threatening statement. She was transported to the Broward County Main Jail and later released after posting a $1,000 bond.
