Join the annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Tamarac to pay tribute to the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community and country.
The ceremony features keynote speaker Lieutenant Colonel Berbert Sennett, who served 24 years as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and three years of active duty. He has held several major commands, including serving a six-month stint as Post Chaplain at Hunter Army Airfield. He also served as a U.S. Army Reserves Chaplain.
Held on Monday, May 29, at 10:30 a.m., The program includes a presentation of colors led by the Tamarac Fire Rescue Honor Guard. The Veterans Affairs Committee will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and vocalist Lori Conti will sing the national anthem. World-class singing organization, The Miamians, will perform the “Armed Forces Salute.”
In honor of Memorial Day, the Tamarac Veterans Affairs Committee will collect non-perishable food, socks, and toiletry items for unhoused veterans. A wreath-laying ceremony will follow to honor fallen American heroes.
Due to the ongoing construction at Veterans’ Memorial Park, this year’s ceremony is moved to Tamarac Community Center at 8601 West Commercial Blvd.
