Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through August 5, 2024.
Threats / Intimidation
A victim of Threats / Intimidation was reported on 07/31/2024. An adult female reported someone was sending her threatening texts.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other was reported on 07/31/2024. The total estimated loss was $744. The victim advised she was fraudulently led to transfer $744 into an account for a service she never received.
Walmart was the victim of Fraud -All Other at 6931 N Pine Island Road, which was reported on 08/05/2024. The total estimated loss was $480. The reporter wanted to report a subject defrauding Walmart.
Theft
Autozone was the victim of Theft -Retail / Shoplifting at 6095 N University Drive was reported on 08/05/2024. The total estimated loss was $681. Two unknown black male subjects entered the business, selected two car batteries and exited the business without paying.
A victim of Theft -Retail / Shoplifting was reported on 07/31/2024. Four suspects utilized services from a nail salon and fled without paying.
7-Eleven was the victim of Theft – All Other at 3101 W Commercial Blvd was reported on 08/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $111. A male subject stole frozen pizza from the 7-Eleven.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 08/02/2024. An auto theft from Sawgrass Infiniti was reported.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 08/05/2024. A vehicle was removed from the driveway while the family was on vacation.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery was reported on 08/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $400. Two suspects were involved in an armed robbery with a firearm.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 08/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $570. A vehicle was broken into, and a laptop was stolen.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 08/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $555. 2 unknown females entered the victim’s vehicle and stole her firearm, and 2 others attempted to enter another vehicle.
A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 08/03/2024. The total estimated loss was $530. Deputies responded to a residence in reference to an unoccupied burglary.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 08/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $100. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle.
Criminal Mischief
A victim of Criminal Mischief was reported on 08/05/2024. An unknown cause of damage to the vehicle’s rear glass being shattered.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage was reported on 08/05/2024. Two adults reported that while driving on Pine Island Road a golf ball landed on their windshield, breaking the glass.
Information
Information was reported on 08/05/2024. A Crime Stoppers tip for a dog led to the dogs’ being in good condition.
Aggravated Stalking
A victim of Aggravated Stalking was reported on 08/01/2024. Deputies were dispatched to a call in reference to aggravated stalking with a gun.
Arrests
Campbell, Philip Kenneth Charles, 38, was arrested on a charge of Domestic Violence Injunction Willful Violation on 07/30/2024.
Grace, Jacari, 18, was arrested on a charge of robbery with a Firearm on 08/01/2024.
Martins, April Watanabe, 28, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Stalking-Follow Harass Cyberstalk After Injunction on 08/01/2024.
Hicks, Marqus Reynard, 19, was arrested on a charge of Robbery-With a Firearm on 08/01/2024.
Sassine Reyes, David Nicolas, 26, was arrested on a charge of Vehicle Theft-Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle on 08/02/2024.
