Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through April 5, 2021.
Auto Theft
4022 Lakeside Dr – Lakeside at Tamarac Condos
On March 23, a female reported her vehicle 2005 black Cadillac CTS was stolen from her parking lot.
8400 Lagos De Campo Blvd – Rokest Condominiums
On March 30, the victim reported his 2019 Toyota Gray Tacoma was stolen from the parking lot.
7201 N University Dr – University Hospital
On March 29, a gray 2020 Nissan Kicks was stolen from University Hospital and Medical Center’s parking lot. Tot. Est. Loss: $300.
6881 W Commercial Blvd – IBK Preschool
On March 31, the victim advised his Silver Saturn Vue parked to the rear of the preschool for a couple of months was stolen. Video surveillance shows the vehicle being towed by a black flatbed tow truck. The vehicle was not listed on the tow log, and various tow companies were called and advised they did not have the vehicle. No payments were owed on the vehicle.
6000 Nw 64th Ave – Bermuda Club
On April 4, a victim reported his 2017 gray Honda RAV4 was stolen.
Battery
5686 Rock Island Rd – Sun Vista
On March 30, a caller advised that her partner/husband battered her during an altercation. The suspect was gone on arrival. An Out Of Custody P.C. was completed.
Burglary Conveyance
5264 Gate Lake Rd – The Villas at the Gate
On April 2, a 2016 Porsche Cayenne was burglarized. Tot. Est. Loss: $500.
Criminal Mischief
7660 Nw 88th Ter – Park Place at Woodmont
On March 30, the suspect kicked the front glass door, causing damage.
7600 N University Dr
On March 24, BSO responded to 7600 North University Dr. about a report of graffiti spray-painted onto the walkover crosswalk. They made contact with city staff. Photos were taken of the graffiti and submitted into records. FDOT was contacted by city staff to remove the graffiti due to it being their property.
8202 Cassia Ter – Woodmont
On March 31, a victim reported their rear passenger side window was broken.
Domestic Disturbance
5300 Nw 51st Ave – Mainlands 6
On April 1, a domestic disturbance occurred between a married couple. No physical violence. Firearms were taken and submitted for safekeeping.
Missing Person
Southgate Blvd
On March 31, the reporting person said her daughter had not been home for almost two weeks and filed a report. She is a habitual runaway.
Theft
7320 Nw 85th Ct – Southgate Gardens
Between November 27 and March 30, the victim reported the theft of her cellphone and speaker from Best Buy. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,341.
Hiatus Rd
On March 31, an unknown person went onto the open construction site and took an overhead headlight from an asphalt roller. Tot. Est. Loss: $2,500.
Threats/Intimidation
5801 NW 57th Ct – Chelsea
On March 30, the victim started receiving threatening texts from her the suspect who resides in another state.
Theft
3116 W Commercial Blvd – Winn Dixie
On April 1, the victim left belongings in a shopping cart after leaving the grocery store. A suspect was observed on video surveillance, taking the items from the cart and leaving the scene. Description of the suspect was noted, but no identification at this time.
5825 N University Dr – Citibank
On April 2, the victim placed her sunglasses on the ledge of the interior ATM inside the bank’s front entrance, forgetting about them, and exited the bank. The victim returned a short time later and discovered her sunglasses missing. Tot. Est. Loss: $200.
Arrests
Baker, Ashley Maliyah (B F, 18) was arrested on charges of Damage Prop-criminal mischief-over $200 Under $1,000 at 5961 NW 61st Ave on 03/30/2021.
Blackwood, Joel Bryan Nicholas (B M, 27) was arrested on Battery $1,000 Bond charges at 8191 W Commercial Blvd on 04/02/2021.
Orisme, Juamllee Jimmy (B M, 28) was arrested on charges of Warrant- Count 1 Burglary Structure Unoccup at 8390 Lagos De Campo Blvd 04/02/2021.
Abernathy, Victoria (B F, 36) was arrested on charges of Burgl-Conveyance Unoccupied/unarmed at 4609 Nw 30th Ter on 04/03/2021.
Omeally, Curry Akeem (B M, 28) was arrested on charges of Warrant – Driving While License Suspended at 5406 Bayberry Ln, on 04/03/2021.
(B M, 39) was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/Domestic Viol at 7650 Westwood Dr on 04/03/2021.
