The Broward Sheriff’s Office is set to host a Career Fair in search of the next generation of public servants.
The Career Fair will take place on Saturday, October 26. At this event, individuals interested in becoming firefighters, paramedics, or detention deputies can connect with local recruiters.
The event will take place at the Ron Cochran Public Safety Building at 2601 West Broward Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Attendees can connect with the BSO Recruitment Unit and access information that will prepare them to choose the best path.
Each recruiter will outline the pay scale and benefits of the available roles. Representatives will also be available to answer questions about job requirements, training programs, and the department’s hiring process.
Current members of each squad will also be on hand to answer questions and provide more insight into their role and why recruits may want to pursue the occupation.
For those interested in a security and safety role, a $5,000 bonus is offered to new detention deputies.
While attendance is free to the public, organizers ask those interested in attending to select one of four available hour-long sessions to ensure all recruits receive the attention they deserve.
