Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through June 21, 2021.
Auto Theft
Sands Point Blvd
On June 18, a 36-year-old male was the victim of Auto Theft. He reported his black Nissan stolen by an unknown person(s).
N Belfort Cir
On June 18, an 85-year-old female was the victim of Auto Theft. A suspect used the victim’s red Honda Accord and refused to return the vehicle for the past 3 weeks. Reporting person contacted an attorney, and a certified letter was sent to the suspect`s home. They were given 3 days to return the vehicle. The suspect has made no attempt to return the vehicle.
Fraud
NW 64th Ave
On June 18, a 72-year-old female was the victim of Fraud. Tot. Est. Loss: $800.
Narcotics Offense
N Pine Island Rd
On June 20, two BOLOs were received regarding a subject falling asleep while driving her vehicle. After she crashed into another vehicle at NW 81st St and N Pine Island Rd, contact was made with the subject. She was found to be in possession of cocaine and alprazolam and was arrested.
Suspicious Vehicle
NW 107th Ave
On June 15, two males were located in a black SUV at NW 83rd St and NW 107th Ave. The males were identified as the suspects spraying people with pepper spray. No arrest information was provided. The identification by BSO deputies followed multiple incidents involving Mace in Tamarac. In one incident, on June 2, a female victim advised that while out for a walk on NW 96th Ave, a dark-colored vehicle with a young male in the passenger seat pulled up and sprayed her in the face with mace. The vehicle fled westbound on NW 81st St. In another incident, on June 3, a victim advised that while out for a walk on NW 98th Ave, a black mid-sized SUV with a young male in the driver’s seat pulled up and sprayed him in the mouth and arm with mace. The vehicle fled eastbound on Southgate Blvd. The day before, the victim`s younger brother was involved in a similar incident but did not report it to the police.
Burglary Conveyance
NW 49th Ct
On June 15, a 77-year-old male was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. His vehicle was burglarized and ransacked.
NW 51st Pl
On June 15, a 51-year-old male was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. His unlocked vehicle was burglarized. The only item taken was an Apple iPad Pro sitting on the passenger seat. No latent fingerprints were collected. No surveillance video was available. Tot. Est. Loss: $2,000.
Sanibel Dr
On June 16, a 25-year old male was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. Tot. Est. Loss: $540.
Theft
NW 61st St
On June 15, a 27-year-old female was the victim of Theft. She said an unknown person entered her bedroom and stole $500 in U.S. currency from a clear plastic bottom drawer with nothing else in it. Tot. Est. Loss: $500.
Criminal Mischief
W Commercial Blvd
On June 18, a suspect used a store’s coin machine and advised a store employee the machine counted currency incorrectly. Employee attempted to show suspect his coins were not stuck in machine. The suspect then pulled wires inside the machine, causing it to no longer function.
NW 64th Ave
On June 15, a 74-year-old male was the victim of Criminal Mischief. Someone slashed the tires of his gray Toyota Rav4 with an unknown object.
Lost Property
N Nob Hill Cir
On June 15, a person reported an official document from the Social Security Administration lost in the U.S. Postal Service mail.
Assault
W Commercial Blvd
On June 16, a 27-year-old female told deputies she was the victim of Aggravated Assault. She said an unknown male pointed a gun at her while driving.
Battery
W Commercial Blvd
On June 16, a 28-year-old female was the victim of Battery at a local business. A caller advised that an ex-employee became irate inside the business and threw a concierge bell toward the caller.
Information
3116 W Commercial Blvd
On June 16, the manager at Winn Dixie reported an incident of a child slipping and falling near the meat department.
NW 49th Ter
On June 18, a 75-year-old male was reported missing. He was later found and reunited with his family.
Arrests
Cubano, Gabriel Luis, 35, was arrested on charges of Trespassing-After Warning-Structure Or Conveyance on N State Road 7, Tamarac, on 06/17/2021.
Mackey, John Lewis, 54, was arrested on charges of Warrant-Trespass/Property/Other Structure in the 4100 block of W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 06/17/2021.
Dones, Dennis, 55, was arrested on charges of Battery On Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older on NW 64th Way, Tamarac, on 06/17/2021.
Torres, Samuel, 41, was arrested on charges of Warrant-Possession Of Alprazolam on NW 81st Ave, Tamarac, on 06/20/2021.
Nagy, Jennifer Anne, 34, was arrested on charges of Possession Of Cocaine on N Pine Island Rd, Tamarac, on 06/20/2021.
