HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital has unveiled its state-of-the-art Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center in Tamarac with a mission to become the leading destination for specialized wound care in South Florida.
HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital has a nearly 50-year history of providing comprehensive care to South Florida residents. The hospital has joined forces with experts in wound care and hyperbaric medicine to deliver comprehensive, patient-focused services.
Dr. Safia Ali, an American Board Certified Family Medicine Physician, Certified in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, and Dr. Han Pham Hulen, UHM/ABPM, have been appointed as the center’s Medical Directors.
The hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Harris, emphasized the center’s dedication to patient care.
“At HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital, we are dedicated to the care and improvement of human life. We saw not only an opportunity but a need for improved, specialized wound care in our community. The goal of our advanced program is to prevent or delay limb loss and provide our patients with their best quality of life.”
The center is close to the hospital campus at 7201 N University Drive. It offers a range of advanced wound care treatments, including negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, mechanical and enzymatic debridement, total-contact casting, multi-layer compression therapy, and tissue infection management.
Additionally, the facility has two hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers, providing patients with 100% pure oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure. Dr. Han Pham Hulen, UHM/ABPM, notes that hyperbaric oxygen therapy “can be an excellent adjunct to wound healing” for complex, chronic open wounds, helping patients heal faster and regain their lives.
When patients schedule an appointment at the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, their primary care provider remains actively involved, collaborating with their dedicated physicians to ensure the best possible outcomes.
HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital has a nearly 50-year history of providing comprehensive care to South Florida residents.
