Coral Springs and Parkland’s high school bowling teams are gearing up for the upcoming district competition on October 21, which will take place in Boca Raton.
This year’s district meet will feature teams from Palm Beach County.
J.P. Taravella High School’s bowling team holds the top spot among local schools, including Coral Springs High, Coral Glades, Coral Springs Charter, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas. The teams compete twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at Bowlero Tamarac.
“Now we are getting ready for the district competition. If we finish in first or second place, we will compete in the state championship,” said Greg Mason, the Taravella coach.
He highlighted standout performances, particularly from Zachary Kimbrell, averaging an impressive 212, along with solid contributions from Marvin Nixon and Bryce Collins. “It’ll take hard work and focus to reach the state meet,” Mason added.
Hot on their heels, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, led by Coach Mike Gregory, holds second place. Gregory praised the efforts of his son Bryce, along with teammates Vincent Cuillo and Angelo Ferrigo, as they aim to continue their rise in the standings.
Coral Glades, another contender, has shown steady improvement throughout the season. Coach Joe Catalano noted strong performances from his son Anthony and Lane Brainard, positioning them as potential challengers in the upcoming district meet.
