The Musical Theatre Club of Kings Point presents its new show, “The Beat Goes On, a 60’s Spectacular,” with three Sunday matinee shows.
The shows, held at 2 p.m. on October 27, November 3, and November 10, are $8 for residents and $10 for guests.
“This is the first time a show like this has been presented by the Musical Theatre Club of Kings Point,” the Club’s Musical Director and Co-Writer Neil Goldberg said, adding that historically, the club’s musicals have been Broadway-type shows featuring music from as far back as the 30’s.
“With ‘The Beat Goes On,’ every single song is from the 1960’s, a Baby Boomers buffet of musical treats,” Goldberg said, from a comedy storyline taking place in a Soda Shop in Act 1 to a bandstand concert series in Act 2, all with its share of humor.
“This is a song-filled smile-fest for anyone who appreciates music from the Beatles, Elvis, Connie Francis, The Ronettes, Petula Clark, Sonny & Cher, Dean Martin, and so many more,” he added.
Goldberg noted that the show is his first venture into writing, and he hopes friends and neighbors will come out to see the show.
The Palace at Kings Point is located at 7620 Nob Hill Rd. in Tamarac.
