The City of Tamarac is hosting a Pirate Plunge & Safety Sail event to help enhance community safety and awareness of water.
The Pirate Plunge, free and open to the public, will take place on Saturday, May 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Caporella Aquatic Center at 9800 Northwest 58th Street.
Experts have designed the event to provide essential swimming techniques and lifesaving skills through hands-on activities.
The activities attendees can expect to participate in have been structured to prevent drowning and encourage safe practices near bodies of water.
Participants can engage in swimming sessions emphasizing practical lifesaving missions and learn from water safety educational seminars led by experts.
