A happy restaurant outing takes a turn after one family walked into a sandwich shop for dinner, when a purse snatcher grabbed the woman’s Michael Kors bag from her hand and runs away.
The incident happened at the Subway restaurant at 4601 N.W. 31 Ave., Tamarac on February 6, at 7:20 p.m.
The victim chases the thief, and the video ends there. But the victim told Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives that she ran after him until he jumped into a getaway car, possibly a green, late-model Nissan with dark, tinted windows with a woman driver who had been waiting for him. Then the victim used her own car and blocked the getaway car from driving away, so the criminal jumped out and started running southbound when she lost sight of him and the getaway car.
Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives have released the very video in hopes someone will recognize the purse snatcher. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call BSO Det. Mark Copley at (954) 321-4270 or report anonymous information to Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for anonymous information that leads to an arrest.
