Incidents
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Criminal)
Deputies responded to several verbal disputes throughout Tamarac, including incidents at North Colony Circle, a residence involving roommates and couples on October 16 and 18, and another on October 19. No physical altercations were reported.
Burglary Conveyance
• On October 14, a firearm valued at $400 was stolen from a vehicle parked in Tamarac.
• Another attempted vehicle burglary was reported later that morning after deputies lifted latent prints from the scene.
Drugs / Narcotics Offenses
• A motorist found asleep at the wheel near Southgate Boulevard and Nob Hill Road on October 14 was arrested for DUI. Drugs were later found in his pocket.
• On October 18, deputies discovered a driver unconscious at Northwest 94th Avenue and Northwest 81st Street with fentanyl and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested.
Theft – All Other
• A Samsung S23 Ultra smartphone valued at $650 was stolen after being left on a counter at the Tamarac Post Office on October 14.
• A Tamarac resident reported $124 worth of property missing that same day.
• On October 15, a woman reported returning home to find numerous bedroom items missing, totaling $1,400.
Fraud – All Other
• On October 15, a resident reported attempted unauthorized debit-card use at a Walgreens.
• That same evening, a Tamarac woman fell victim to a scam text pretending to be from the DMV, resulting in a $6.99 charge.
Assault
• A Broward County bus driver reported on October 15 that an unknown passenger threatened to kill him after refusing to pay his fare. No weapon was displayed.
Battery
• On October 16, deputies investigated a reported battery and criminal mischief case; the suspect had not been located.
• On October 17, during a road-rage incident, 19-year-old Tyler T. Rhodes allegedly threw an electric scooter at another driver’s car, then punched and spat on her before fleeing. He was later arrested.
• Deputies responded to two additional battery incidents on October 17 and 18, both resulting in arrests, including one domestic battery case.
Auto Theft
• A vehicle valued at $16,000 was reported stolen on October 18 after deputies canvassed the area with negative results.
Trespassing
• A man previously trespassed from the Publix plaza at 5881 N. University Drive was arrested again on October 18 after returning to the property.
Death Investigations
• Deputies investigated two unattended deaths between October 15 and 18; both cases were turned over to the Broward Medical Examiner.
Other Reports
Deputies also documented multiple lost-property cases, welfare checks, Baker Act transports, and informational reports at local schools and senior residences.
