Incidents
Stolen Tag Recovered
Deputies recovered a vehicle with a stolen tag attached at 4999 N. State Road 7/W. Commercial Blvd. A felony stop was conducted and the subject was released with a notice to appear. Estimated loss: $25.
Death Investigation
An adult male was found deceased at a nursing home in Tamarac on August 12.
Shoplifting – Walgreens
6401 W. Commercial Blvd. – Items valued at $1,000 stolen on August 12.
3914 W. Commercial Blvd. – Items valued at $10 stolen on July 24, reported August 12.
Identity Theft
A Tamarac resident reported fraudulent activity on his credit report between August 8–10.
Road Rage Assault
Following a hit-and-run, a suspect threw objects from a vehicle during a road rage incident on August 12.
Suspicious Encounter
A woman reported a male approached her asking, “Can I date your mommy,” on August 12.
Traffic Arrest
A driver was cited for multiple traffic violations at 8801 W. Commercial Blvd. on August 12. The vehicle was removed by Westway Towing.
Arson
A repossessed vehicle was intentionally set on fire at 5715 NW 65th Ave. on August 12. Fire Marshals responded.
Battery Reports
August 12 – Victim reported battery and assault.
August 13 – Domestic violence battery; suspect taken into custody.
August 16 – Battery reported between friends inside a vehicle.
Grand Theft Auto & Jewelry
A vehicle and a ring, valued at $5,250, were stolen in Tamarac on August 12.
Domestic Disturbances
Multiple verbal disputes were reported throughout the week, including mother/daughter conflicts, neighbor complaints, and custody-related arguments. None involved physical violence.
Baker Acts
Several individuals were involuntarily committed under the Baker/Marchman Act, including cases involving suicide threats and self-harm.
Found Property
A backpack containing a firearm was found at the Tamarac Community Center on August 13 and later returned to its owner.
Motor Vehicle Tag Theft
A stolen license plate valued at $104 was reported on August 13.
Drug Arrest
Two subjects were arrested for narcotics offenses at Manor Parc community pool parking lot on August 14.
Abandoned Vehicle
An unattended vehicle filled with Amazon packages was found at NW 81st St. and NW 85th Ave. The packages were released to an Amazon manager.
Harassment/Threats
A victim reported harassing text messages linked to a prior relationship on August 14.
Armed Robbery
A victim was robbed at knifepoint of a bracelet valued at $1,900 on August 14.
Residential Burglaries
July 16 burglary reported on August 15; victim’s residence burglarized by known suspects. Loss: $14,125.
August 17 burglary resulted in an arrest.
Fire
An apartment fire occurred on August 15 after items were left on a stove.
Kidnapping / False Imprisonment
On August 15, a suspect was arrested after an altercation escalated into false imprisonment and aggravated assault.
Elder Exploitation Investigation
A DCF inquiry on August 15 found no evidence of elderly exploitation.
Credit Card Fraud
On August 16, a Tamarac woman reported fraudulent debit card charges totaling $300.
Criminal Mischief
Unknown suspects damaged three vehicles at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd. on August 15.
Information Reports
Several calls, including misuse of 911 and a tracker found in a vehicle, were logged.
