Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 1.
In an unusual trend this past week, there were nine cases where residents were Baker-Acted due to psychological issues. They were taken to University Hospital for psychiatric evaluation under the Baker Act. Incidents include overdoses, erratic behavior, and threats of harm. This information was not included in the report below.
Aggravated Battery
4211 W Commercial Blvd – Sunshine Plaza
On May 26, the security at Sunshine Plaza was arrested for stabbing a male during a verbal altercation.
Auto Theft
8500 block of NW 75th Ave – Southgate Gardens
On May 27, the vehicle was stolen, and the victim advised the doors were locked, but all keys were inside the vehicle along with his wallet, debit card, Florida DL, social security card, and vehicle title.
8030 NW 96th Ter – Coral Vista Community
On May 28, the victim reported his vehicle was stolen from in front of his home during the evening or early hours of the day.
8191 W Commercial Blvd – Comfort Inn Suites
On May 29, the victim stated that her 2013 Ford Escape was stolen while she slept by a known subject. The victim never gave consent for the vehicle to be taken.
Battery
8400 block of NW 61st St
On May 30, the victim gave a statement saying that her husband slapped her on her face. She is over 65. BSO stated they did not see any marks of evidence of a slap. They spoke to the suspect, who said he didn’t slap her. He was gone on arrival and would not return. An out of custody PC was completed and forwarded to the State Attorney.
Battery
6000 block of NW 67th Terr
On May 29, the victim and his sister were battered by his wife because a verbal altercation escalated, and she became physically aggressive.
Burglary
8100 block of NW 58th Pl
On May 28, a residential burglary that occurred between 09/23/2019 and 05/28/2020, by an unknown person. No signs of forced entry were located.
Burglary Conveyance
6180 block of Laurel Ln
On May 26, a Delayed Burglary Conveyance. The victim observed his Nissan Altima ransacked. The stolen property consists of a wallet, backpack, and other miscellaneous items.
23 Canterbury Ln.
On May 26, the victim reported between 05/23/20 late afternoon and 05/26/20 1unknown suspect(s) went into her unlocked 2018 Honda Fl and complex and stole her wallet and credit cards. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of her complex Shakerwood.
8000 block of NW 100th Dr
On May 28, a bicycle was taken from screened in back patio. The screen was loose.
4600 block of NW 59th Ct.
On May 27, the victim advised he was in the process of moving, and some unknown person smashed his rear driver window and took his belongings. Total loss: $6,628.
Information
5510 Nw 31st Ave – Prospect Park Apartments
On May 27, the complainant is having issues with the landlord of the apartment, who also works as the maintenance manager. The landlord wants the complainant to move out of the apartment without a legal eviction. The electrical breaker to the complainant’s apartment was turned off this morning.
9100 Lime Bay Blvd
On May 28, BSO responded to a call about an unresponsive 29-yr-old male at the residence. The patient transported to University Hospital.
8100 block of NW 58th Pl
On May 31, the complainant is alleging that an older adult that has not paid him for rent in the last eight months attacked him with a knife. No signs of an altercation in the house, no signs of injuries, and no knife found.
Criminal Mischief
8200 block of NW 66th Ter. – Heathgate Sunflower
On May 28, an unknown subject smashed the rear window of the victim’s 2007 silver Ford Explorer by unknown means. No surveillance video available.
3873 W Commercial Blvd – Extended Stay
On May 30, someone keyed the driver’s side rear door with the word bitch.
Fraud
6401 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreen’s
On May 28, the victim stated he lost his wallet, and his credit card was used at the address mentioned above.
9900 block of Malvern Dr
On May 29, an unknown person called pretending to be their son and gave, stating he was in jail and needed bail money. The son then gave the phone number for a lawyer and had the victim withdrew $15,000 in cash from the bank, and they were to put the money in a box, and it would be picked it up at the residence. An unmasked male came and picked up the box.
Theft
4895 N State Road 7
On May 30, the victim wanted to report the theft of her license plate.
Theft Retail
6900 N University Dr – CVS
On May 26, a male suspect entered the CVS and filled a large back bag with various personal hygiene dental products valued at $544.21 and then exited without paying. Left eastbound on McNab Road in an older model Green Toyota Camry (FL Tag LNH187) with two male subjects inside the vehicle.
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On May 26, an unknown male entered the store and stole four cases of beer.
6900 N University Dr – CVS
On May 27, a male suspect entered the CVS and grabbed 3 cases of beer valued at $80.97 and then exited the store without paying. Left eastbound on McNab Road in a Silver Chrysler PT Cruiser (No Tag) with rear-end damage.
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On May 28, an unknown male subject wearing a reflective traffic vest concealed several items in a backpack and exited the business, making no attempt to pay for concealed items.

On May 29, Assistant Manager reported an unknown male walking out of the store with three cases of Corona beer for an approximate loss of $71.97. BWC

On May 29, three subjects entered the business and selected multiple boxes of diapers passing all points of sale making no attempt to pay
3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS
On May 30, the Shift Manager reported an unknown male walking out of the store with numerous cosmetic items for an approximate loss of $332.86.
2401 W Commercial Blvd – Speedway Gas Station
On May 30, the reporting person advised than an unknown male entered the store. After gathering several items off of the shelves, he was at register #1 and asked for two cartons of cigarettes, and once all the items were on the counter, he grabbed them and exited the store without paying for them. Surveillance collected.
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On May 30, the reporting person advised that two unknown males entered the store, and after gathering five cases of beer, they both exited the store without paying for them. Surveillance collected.
Robbery
5900 block of Pine Island Rd/Riverside St – Riverside Condos
On May 27, the victim was held up a gunpoint by a male wearing a mask and a black t-shirt. The suspect stole the victim’s $800 gold necklace and his wallet with $20 and credit cards. The suspect then ran northbound through the parking lot of the complex. Video evidence was taken on the scene. The suspect was not located at this time.
Threats
5700 block of NW 58th Ave
On May 30, the victim stated her ex-boyfriend sent her a text message claiming he was going to attack her. The suspect then made threats over the phone to drive over to her apartment to vandalize her vehicle.
Trespassing
9330 Lime Bay Blvd
On May 30, the subject was trespassed from the above residence after being asked not to return multiple times. BSO Trespass Affidavit on file.

Camarda, Gary (W M, 51) was arrested on charges of Warrant – Driving License Suspended at 8301 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/26/2020.
Stclair, Jeffrey (B M, 35) was arrested on charges of Possess Counterfeited motor vehicle Identification Number Plates at 1050 Sw 81st Ave, North Lauderdale, on 05/26/2020.
Merilus, Lyndon Mildred (B M, 41) was arrested on charges of Agg Battery Offend Commits Aggravated Batt at 4211 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/26/2020.
Pinder, Allen D. (B M, 42) was arrested on charges of Larc-grand Theft 700 Less Than 5k Dollars at 5041 N State Road 7, Tamarac, on 05/27/2020.
Mangroo, Shafeeza (U F, 33) was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol at 6004 Nw 67th Ter, Tamarac, on 05/29/2020.
Gregory Robinson, Corey Lasean (B M, 39) was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol at 8451 Nw 61st St, Tamarac, on 05/30/2020.
