Tamarac Crime Update: Woman Hides Jewelry On The Bottom Of Paper Shredder, Cleaning Crew Throws It Out

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through April 17.

Lost Property

Lost Property on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 04/11/2023.  The victim advised that her wallet was missing from her purse inside her hotel room.

Lost Property on Fairfax Drive was reported on 04/13/2023. The caller said she hid her jewelry inside her paper shredder under the paper, then left it there, Later, her cleaning company threw it away.

Fraud – Credit Card / Atm

A victim of Fraud – Credit Card / Atm on N Pine Island Road was reported on 04/11/2023. 

Theft – All Other

A victim of Theft – All Other on Fairfax Drive was reported on 04/12/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,200. The victim reported an unknown subject stole her JCPenney package. 

Battery

A victim of Battery on N Pine Island Road was reported on 04/12/2023. Tamarac Fire Rescue responded regarding damage to the building’s main Electrical Box and Transformer due to the fire.

Recovered Auto

A Recovered Auto on Woodmont Terrace was reported on 04/14/2023. A recovered stolen vehicle, a 2023 Black 4-door Audi Q7, was reported stolen by North Palm Beach. The car was located and was requested to be towed by Westway.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on Rock Island Road was reported on 04/14/2023. The total estimated loss was $15,000. An unknown subject stole the victim’s 2013 black enclosed SWTM Trailer / Food Trailer—no signs of forced entry.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N University Drive was reported on 04/16/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,670. The vehicle was left unlocked while the victim was inside working in the business, and an unknown suspect(s) entered the car and stole miscellaneous items.

Arrests

Jackson, Leroy, 63, was arrested on a Domestic Battery By Strangulation-Dating Relation charge on NW 59 Street on 04/11/2023.

Medina Ospina, Jenny Alejandra, 40, was arrested on a Disorderly Intox-Disorder Intox Public Place Cause Disturbance charge at 5301 N State Road 7 on 04/11/2023.

Burt, Sheree Ann, 27, was arrested on a charge of Warrant Failure To Appear On Dwls on 4950 E Sabal Palm Blvd on 0/11/2023.

Forrest, Phillip Lee, 67, was arrested on a charge of Battery-Touch Or Strike on N Pine Island Road on 04/12/2023.
