The Tamarac Theatre of the Performing Arts presents “Lenny” the true story of the legendary comic Lenny Bruce.
Lenny Bruce was the first comic to fight the establishment.  he came out of the shadows from a night club comic in a strip club, to the world stage.  According to the Tamarac Theatre of the Performing Arts (TTOPA), Lenny is a superb play that works on many levels:  On the one level it is a dramatization of Bruce’s life, on another level it re-creates his brazen nightclub routines.  Lenny talked dirty and annoyed people so much that, in the end, the courts locked up his words, put him out of work and finally he died from an overdose of drugs in 1966.
Show dates start from Saturday, August 11th  and plays on weekends until August 26th.  Call for reservations at 954-726-7898.
TTOPA is located at 7143 Pine Island Road, Tamarac FL 33321.
