Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac from January 15 through January 21.
Burglary conveyance
7500 block of NW 86th Terrace
On January 15 at 1:00 p.m., the officer responded to an atrium complex in reference to a burglary to a vehicle. A witness advised that she saw a man with a flashlight inside of a Black Toyota, and when she yelled out to him, he ran from the area with another male that was possibly a lookout. The male responsible for the vehicle stated that he left it unlocked but gave no one permission to be inside of it.
4100 block of West Commercial Blvd
On January 15 between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., a man wearing a red shirt smashed the passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and stole an iPad with and case from the top of the front passenger seat.
4900 block of NW 56th Court
Between January 15 at 11:00 p.m. and January 16 at 6:15 a.m., a woman reported her vehicle burglarized with an approximate loss of $355.
3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS 3890 W Commercial Blvd
On January 18, the officer responded to the CVS parking lot to document a burglary to a conveyance that occurred at 9:15 p.m..
On January 19 at 1:20 a.m., a locked vehicle was burglarized. The driver’s side window was smashed, an iPhone 6 was taken and latent prints were collected.
4969 North SR 7
On January 19 at 12:49 a.m., an unknown subject(s) used concrete rock to break the window in attempts to gain entry into the vehicle. It did not appear that entry was made.
Theft 5900 block of London Lane
2400 block of NW 52nd Street
On January 15 at 5:00 p.m., the victim found two or three men steeling the wheels of his 2018 Honda Accord. The subjects left the area in a green SUV with an unknown tag number. The suspects were able to take only one wheel from the vehicle.
On January 21 between 4:43 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., an unknown subject stole packages from the victim’s front porch. Video footage captured the incident.
6701 Hiatus Road – City Furniture
On January 16 between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole the license plate off of the rear of the victim’s truck.
Auto theft
7000 block of Woodmont Way – Woodmont Greens
Occurred between January 18 at 9:00 p.m., and January 19 at 8:00 a.m. The victim parked her vehicle away from their townhouse due to lack of parking and found it missing in the morning. All tow companies listed on the complex grounds were contacted and none claimed to have the vehicle in their possession. The area was canvassed for any video cameras or witnesses in the area, but met with negative results.
Burglary residence
7400 block of Trent Drive
On January 14, between 11:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., the victim advised that sometime between those hours, an unknown person(s) entered her residence and stole jewelry from the master bedroom.
Shooting/Unlawful Discharge
7600 block of NW 73rd Ave
Between January 12 and January 19, an unknown subject(s) launched an unknown type of projectile (possibly bb round) through the front window of the residence. The front window was damaged as a result, and the unknown projectile was unable to be located.
