Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a shooting late Tuesday night in Tamarac that left a teenage boy critically injured and an adult woman wounded, authorities said.
According to the BSO Public Information Office, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a shooting at approximately 10:10 p.m. Dec. 31 in the 7900 block of Northwest 71st Avenue. Deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
Investigators said a teenage male was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. An adult female also sustained a gunshot wound and was treated at the scene. An adult male was detained on scene, authorities said.
BSO’s Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating the incident. Additional details, including the circumstances leading up to the shooting and whether charges will be filed, have not yet been released.
