Two small businesses received assistance with startup costs from a Tamarac grant program.
During the January 29 meeting, the commission approved a Tenant Improvement/Interior Buildout Grant agreement between the city and A Touch of Serling, a hair care business. It is for a reimbursement of $48,636 for the interior buildout and improvements of a 1,842-square-foot commercial space located at 8142 North University Drive.
The commission also approved a Tenant Improvement/Interior Buildout Grant agreement between the city and Xaymaca Coffee Traders, doing business as Origins Café, authorizing reimbursement of $100,000 for interior buildout and improvements to a 1,040-square-foot commercial space located at 6805 West Commercial Boulevard.
The city is working to support small businesses with startup costs and has created a grant program.
“Small businesses are important to Tamarac, and these grants help them get started,” said Mayor Michelle J. Gomez.
