Tamarac business owners will have more advertising options.

During the April 22 meeting, the commission lifted the prohibition on electronic message center signs by approving an ordinance on first reading.

This decision gives businesses new signage options.

According to city information, commercial advertising trends continue to evolve, and the city does not allow digital options such as electronic message centers (EMCs). This omission limits local businesses’ ability to market their products and services in Tamarac.

EMCs have shown measurable effectiveness in supporting economic development by helping local establishments reach customers more efficiently, according to city information.
