Vice Mayor Morey Wright {City of Tamarac}
Morey Wright, Tamarac’s District Two commissioner, has announced a new cash-assistance program called the Tamarac Economic Empowerment Dividend (TEED), designed to help residents on fixed incomes in his district manage rising costs.
Through the basic universal income program, 250 qualified District Two residents will receive cash deposits of $100 a month for six months to help with everyday expenses.
The initiative is specifically aimed at veterans, retirees, and people with disabilities. To qualify, residents must provide documentation showing they reside in District Two and live on a fixed income. They must also have valid photo identification.
Applications for the program opened Monday, and residents can apply online or in person. The city will process applications on a first-come, first-served basis, officials said.
To apply online, visit the TEED application page here. Residents who would like in-person assistance in filling out the application can call 954-597-3479 to schedule an appointment.
A paper application can be picked up at Tamarac City Hall, 7525 Northwest 88th Ave., or downloaded here.
The application period runs through December 31, 2025. Early submissions are encouraged, officials said.
TEED is financed by developer contributions rather than taxpayer funds, according to the city.
