Millennium 6-12 Collegiate had a terrific year in athletics, with the track team recently competing at the Regional Championship in Coral Springs.
The girls’ team placed eighth out of 31 schools, with Savannah Jones coming in third in the 400 meters and 100 hurdles. The relay team also placed fifth in the 4 x 100 and 12th in the 4 x 400 relay.
Raejanae Ebanks finished sixth for Millennium in the 1600 meters. Jaesian Jackson came in ninth in the 100 meters. Ebanks, Leilani Wynter, and Ariel McClary all competed in other events.
The boys team came in 20th place with Jace Herbert taking fifth in the 100 hurdles. Eric Hester and Celeste Thomas both finished ninth in the 200 meters and discus, respectively, while Jadon Chin finished just outside the top ten in the 1600 meters.
Millennium was also well-represented at the Middle School Associate Recognition Awards, with two students being recognized as scholar-athletes. Tammy Flanders was also named Athletic Director of the Year, and two debate coaches were recognized earlier this year, along with Silver Knight Award winners.
