On February 11, the Florida Department of Health reported 132,568 COVID-19 tests were conducted. Out of those, 11,631 came back positive. Of the positive test results, 7,521 were that of Floridians, finding out they had tested positive for the first time.

Testing data for February 11 shows that COVID-19 cases in Florida have steadied since the winter rise, but the plateau of positive results has remained much higher than anyone would prefer. The latest update shows Florida has recorded over 10,000 positive tests in 12 of the last 14 days.

While testing saw a large increase yesterday, the positivity rate fell to 8.07-percent. Data shows of the total positivity rate, 6.22-percent of Floridians tested on February 11 were finding out for the first time they had tested positive for COVID-19.

In Tamarac, the increases have been steady. In total, there have been 4,835 positive COVID-19 cases — an increase of 41 positive cases since February 10.

Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,814,422 positive COVID-19 cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on February 11 was 39-years-old. For months, the average Floridian to test positive for COVID-19 has hovered between 39 and 42-years-old.

Since the pandemic began, 75,734 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 28,565 have passed away. Of the total deaths in Florida, 2,096 have occurred in Broward County.
