The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac responded to various incidents through December 8, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement during this period.
INCIDENTS
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Criminal)
Deputies responded to numerous verbal-only domestic disturbances throughout Tamarac. In each case, no physical altercations or signs of injury were observed, and no arrests were made. These involved spouses, partners, siblings, adult children and parents, and other family members across multiple neighborhoods from December 2–8.
Lost Property Reports
Several lost property cases were documented, including missing wallets, a lost iPhone, and a lost BSO key fob.
Information Reports
Deputies generated multiple information-only reports involving surrendered ammunition, concerning messages from acquaintances, statements involving workplace incidents, civil child custody disputes, a stove left on requiring forced entry, family disagreements over power of attorney, and medical/civil disputes involving custody of an adult.
Elderly Abuse / Neglect (Unfounded)
Deputies investigated two separate allegations of possible elderly neglect or exploitation. Both cases were found to involve no criminal activity.
Fraud & Identity Theft
A number of fraud cases were reported, including fraudulent checks cashed against personal and business accounts, unauthorized debit card charges, fraudulent checks passed at local banks, and identity theft related to a Verizon account. Losses ranged from several hundred dollars to more than $40,000. Some victims were reimbursed by their financial institutions.
Auto Thefts
Two auto thefts occurred during the week:
A 2024 Infiniti QX55 stolen from a dealership, marking the third similar theft in four months.
A personal vehicle stolen overnight from a residential complex.
Animal Bites
Two dog bite incidents were documented:
A Samoyed that escaped a residence and bit another dog and its owner.
A loose German Shepherd that bit a woman multiple times, causing puncture wounds that required hospital treatment.
Thefts
Deputies took reports for several thefts, including:
$60 stolen from a wallet at Walmart
Jewelry theft estimated at $3,000
A stolen Amazon package
Items missing from a vehicle disabled after a crash
A stolen license plate
Retail Thefts
Two retail thefts occurred at CVS stores, involving stolen detergent products and sodas. Losses ranged from $6 to $166.
Criminal Mischief
Two criminal mischief cases were reported:
Damage to a front iron door after an unknown suspect rang a doorbell
Two shattered windows were discovered at a vacant residence, with a machete found inside but no additional damage
Sexual Battery
Deputies arrested a suspect following a reported sexual battery that additionally involved battery, battery by strangulation, burglary, battery, and robbery by sudden snatching.
Aggravated Assault
A woman reported that her father armed himself with a knife and charged at her. He was taken into custody.
Aggravated Battery
An aggravated battery occurred at a bus stop at Commercial Boulevard and State Road 7. The suspect fled on foot and has not been identified.
Child Abuse (Follow-Up)
Deputies assisted DCF with a follow-up visit related to a case originating in Palm Beach County. No contact was made, and no local crime was discovered.
Baker Act / Mental Health Calls
Deputies responded to multiple mental health-related incidents, including suicidal threats, erratic behavior, and individuals deemed unable to care for themselves. Subjects were transported to Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center for evaluation.
Death Investigations
Two death investigations took place after neighbors reported foul odors coming from residences. Deputies conducted welfare checks and located deceased individuals inside both homes. The Medical Examiner and Homicide units assumed responsibility for the scenes.

Aggravated Offenses
Darlene Jean, 32 — Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Michael Vassell, 65 — Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (domestic)
Glory Renee Camacho, 45 — Robbery without a firearm or weapon
Sex Crimes
Ronaldinho Nelson, 23 — Sexual battery, battery by strangulation, burglary battery, robbery by sudden snatching (multiple counts)
Drug Offenses
Elizabeth Scott, 19 — Possession of marijuana under 20 grams
Julian Robinson, 20 — Possession of marijuana under 20 grams
DUI
Iwalani Smith, 62 — DUI, first offense
Property/Traffic Crimes
Rafael Flores Mata, 36 — Driving with an expired license over 6 months
Alexander Robinson, 21 — Warrant: driving on a suspended license
Dwayne Brennen, 44 — Trespassing (non-structure)
Order Protection / Public Order
Adler Telfort, 29 — Violation of domestic violence injunction
Janessa Vazquez, 47 — Misuse of the 911 system
