Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through March 4, 2024.
Theft
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 03/01/2024. The total estimated loss was $25,000. The victim’s SUV was stolen overnight.
CVS was a victim of Theft Retail/Shoplifting was reported on 03/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,754.
A victim of Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts—was reported on 03/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $700. Two rear tires were removed from the vehicle and stolen.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 02/27/2024. An unknown person stole the victim’s purse from the hotel room.
A victim of Theft—All Other was reported on 02/28/2024. The resident reported an unknown person(s) stealing his mail while he was at work.
Found Property
A victim of Found Property on NW 94 Avenue was reported on 02/27/2024. A parent picking up their child from school found a small plastic baggie containing an unknown white crystalline substance at the edge of the sidewalk.
Fire
A victim of Fire at the Shell gas station on N University Drive was reported on 02/29/2024. The victim reported his 2020 Hyundai Elantra caught fire while attempting to refuel.
Information
A victim of Information was reported on 02/29/2024. Allegations were made stating the mother of the victim has been mentally and verbally abusive toward her.
A victim of Information on NW 78 Street was reported on 02/29/2024. A juvenile hit the emergency exit latch on the school bus.
Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault was reported on 02/29/2024. The boyfriend threatened his girlfriend with a machete after an argument about finances.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 03/03/2024. The total estimated loss was $51,640. An unknown subject burglarized the victim’s residence.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 03/02/2024. The total estimated loss was $535.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 03/01/2024. 3 unknown individuals pulled the car door handles of multiple vehicles at 2 am and did not take anything due to them being locked.
Battery
A victim of Aggravated Battery was reported on 03/02/2024. The offender got into a fight and used a deadly weapon, causing serious bodily harm to the victim.
Arrests
Cook, Louis Anthony, 19, was arrested on a charge of Fraud-Impersonation-False Id Given To Leo on 02/27/2024.
Anam, Sarira, 25, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/domestic Violence on 02/28/2024.
Hickey, David, Caprice, 47, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault – Weapon-W Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill on 02/29/2024.
Martin, Lincoln, Abraham, 54, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery-Person Uses A Deadly Weapon on 03/02/2024.
Bryant, Kyler, Matthew, 32, was arrested on a charge of Possession Of a Weapon or Ammo By a Convicted Florida Felon on 02/29/2024.
