A Tamarac neighbor dispute turned violent when a man allegedly bit a woman’s earlobe, causing a severe injury that sent her to the hospital, deputies say.
According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office incident report, Leosthene Leo, 57, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested June 17 following an incident that occurred at a residential community near the 4600 block of Lakeside Drive.
Investigators said Leo and his neighbor became involved in a verbal dispute over personal matters that escalated into a physical confrontation.
According to the affidavit, the victim told deputies that Leo struck her on the left side of her face before charging toward her and biting her left earlobe. The bite allegedly caused a significant laceration and heavy bleeding. The severity of the injury was so significant that Tamarac Fire Rescue transported the victim to the hospital for immediate treatment,
Deputies located Leo at the scene and attempted to take him into custody. Authorities allege he resisted arrest, leading to a prolonged confrontation and physical struggle.
Leo was arrested and was subsequently transported to the Broward Main Jail. Court records show Leo’s bond was set at $25,000 on the aggravated battery charge.
