Tamarac may be closer to getting an apartment building that would provide affordable housing to the city’s working professionals.
During the July 8 meeting, the commission passed a resolution to approve a conditional loan commitment of $640,000 to HTG Tamarac Terraces for its Florida Housing Finance Corporation application.
The development would be located at 5701 NW 88th Avenue and would be six stories with about 100 housing units for working people in public service jobs, according to city information.
Mayor Michelle J. Gomez said she believed the project would benefit Tamarac because many essential workers need affordable housing.
