The Broward Sheriff’s Office North Lauderdale District is hosting ‘Christmas in July’ to spread the joy and magic of the holiday season to the summer months.
Held on Saturday, July 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event takes place across various locations in Broward County, allowing the community to take part at any one of the venues and times.
Christmas in July aims to bring smiles to the faces of underprivileged and homeless children aged 12 and under by featuring Santa Claus, who will be making a special appearance to distribute toys and spread cheer.
Here is a list of the participating locations and their respective scheduled times:
- 10:30 a.m.: Pompano Park, located at the Corner of Bailey Road and State Road 7.
- 11:00 a.m.: Publix 1297 S State Rd 7.
- 11:30 a.m.: Bravo Supermarket, located at 6039 Kimberly Boulevard.
- Noon: Highland Park 408 Southwest 76th Terrace
- 12:30 p.m.: Hampton Pines Park, located at 7800 Hampton Boulevard.
- 1:00 p.m.: Walmart located at 7900 West McNab Road.
- 1:30 p.m.: Wawa, located at 7105 West McNab Road.
For the last 21 years, Christmas in July has served over 50,000 children and thousands of homeless children impacted by natural disasters in The Florida Panhandle, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and St. Vincent.
According to Christmas in July, an estimated 5,500 homeless children have been in the Broward County school system yearly.
