A verbal argument turned physical outside of a Lauderdale Lakes gas station last week, resulting in a hair-pulling attack on a female victim, authorities said Wednesday.
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two culprits involved in the attack, which happened Jan. 21 outside of the RaceTrac gas station at W. Oakland Park Blvd., around 6:45 p.m., according to BSO.
BSO deputies in the Lauderdale Lakes District responded to a report of a robbery outside the gas station. They learned that a “confrontation occurred between the victim, the victim’s friend, and two subjects,” according to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office.
The dispute is seen on the video as the victim’s friend is holding the victim’s phone. At one point, one of the assailants knocks the phone out of the victim’s hands. As the victim runs to get her phone, the person grabs her by her hair and begins to pull her.
The victim was eventually able to flee and recovered her phone, which the assailant had tossed, according to BSO.
Anyone with information is asked to call BSO Det. Armando Enrique at 954-321-4233. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
