In anticipation of a Dalmatian sculpture scheduled for installation at the newly-built Fire Station 36 in Tamarac, the city is asking students to find the perfect name for it.
The 16-foot-tall concrete sculpture, designed by Celso Gonzalez, will be installed at 7499 NW 72nd Street.
To enter, 4th and 5th grade Tamarac students must submit a 100-word essay describing why the sculpture deserves the name of their choice.
The winner will receive various prizes, including a tablet with internet service, a $100 Visa gift card, social media recognition on several platforms, an appearance in the Tam-A Gram, public recognition at the city commission meeting, and the opportunity to read the winning essay at the virtual Grand Opening of Fire Station 36.
All entries must follow the contest rules below. The deadline for the Dalmatian contest is 4 p.m. on April 30, 2021.
