La Brise des Antilles Culinary was ordered shut on October 21 after state inspectors found multiple health code violations, including live roaches and improper food storage temperatures.
According to the inspection report, inspectors found seven violations at the restaurant located at 4269 Northwest 12th Street. Among them, the most serious involved evidence of a roach infestation. Inspectors noted live roaches found crawling in the kitchen, near a water heater, near the mop sink, and underneath the stove.
The restaurant also failed to maintain proper food temperatures. Inspectors reported that cold food was being held at temperatures above 41 degrees.
The report indicates that La Brise des Antilles Culinary will be allowed to reopen once it passes a follow-up inspection confirming all issues have been corrected.
