The Pup Tent at Lauderhill Mall has been ordered to shut down following a health inspection that discovered a rodent infestation.
The Pup Tent closure comes after Tamarac Talk reported in January 2024 that the exact location was previously shut down due to a roach infestation.
According to a health inspection report, inspectors toured the 1345 Northwest 40th Avenue location on March 26 and found 10 violations, including significant rodent activity.
Inspectors observed rodent droppings under a three-compartment sink, under the counter holding a hot dog warmer, and on the counter where the fryers were located.
The report also noted the presence of live, small flying insects.
Inspectors noted additional violations, including using a bowl without a handle to portion fries at the front counter, an employee washing hands without soap after cleaning rodent droppings, and the manager failing to provide proof of food manager certification.
The report shows inspectors also dinged the business for lacking proof of state-approved employee training and operating with an expired Division of Hotels and Restaurants license.
Google currently lists the Pup Tent as permanently closed.
