Tamarac COVID-19 Update: Testing Falls, Positivity Rates Remain High

There were 96,657 COVID-19 tests conducted in the State of Florida, on January 26, and out of those, 12,358 came back positive.

Data from the past 24 hours reveals the lowest COVID-19 cases Florida has seen this month, as well as the lowest number of tests conducted in a single day so far this year.

Although testing reduced across the state, the positivity rate did not follow, remaining at 12.79-percent, a rate that is still far higher than anything that would suggest Florida can count on seeing a sustained downtrend in cases.

In Tamarac, there were 4,381 positive COVID-19 cases — an increase of 49 positive cases since January 25.

Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,676,171 positive cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on January 26 was 40-years-old.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 25,833 deaths to date in Florida and a total of 71,155 patients hospitalized due to the virus.
